Akim Aginsky is a portrait, editorial and commercial photographer, and a proud member of both the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), and of the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA). Akim worked as a staff photographer for Gold Country Media, in the California Sierra Nevada foothills. He has worked for The Examiner Newspapers (San Francisco/Peninsula), ANG Newspapers (The Oakland Tribune, The San Mateo Times and The Hayward Daily Review) as well as New Times Inc. (SF Weekly). His photographs have also appeared in The San Francisco Chronicle and The Honolulu Advertiser newspapers, Spin and Stress magazines in New York, Mean Street magazine in Los Angeles, Freeway magazine based in Paris, France, and Sports Illustrated, SI.com online. Akim's work has been published in "San Francisco: The City's Sights and Secrets," by Chronicle Books. Akim has a B.A. in Art from UC Santa Cruz and has also studied art at the University Michelle de Montagne in Bordeaux, France
